If you like apple pie (and who doesn’t?) and you like pie crust (ditto previous question), here’s something fun to try. In our house, pie preferences lean to a higher crust to pie filling ratio. After racking my brain to see if I could build a pie in a round pan with two layers of crust, pre-baking one and adding it and more filling half-way through, my sister hit on the idea of baking in a sheet pan and using the equivalent of three single crusts. Problem solved and super delicious. It’s as simple as it sounds. Prepare your filling and heat the oven as you would normally.
Roll the crusts out and together to make two large rectangular pieces that will cover the 9”by 13” pan properly. Add filling and bake. Enjoy a thinner layer of filling with lots of crust.
