To The Editor:

My parents built Hendrickson's Chalet back in 1960 at the site now referred to as Rosita's when Sugarbush Access Road was still gravel. It is a shame to see it torn down because that lodge was built in conjunction with engineering from Green Mountain Power for all electric appliances and with electric heat wires plastered in the ceilings. The outside walls were built thick, somewhat like the construction of today. Sugarbush Village did not exist at the time and only natural runoff that never caused a problem ran through the yard. The small culvert that goes deep under Sugarbush Access Road must now be stressed to the limits. Even though the lodge has been vacant for years, it kind of hurts to see it destroyed.
