To The Editor:

This letter was sent to the Waitsfield Select Board; Eric Friedman, executive director of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce; and The Valley Reporter on November 26, 2019.

What is the deal with the piles of large junk?

I am wondering what is the situation with the two large piles of junk about 100 yards south of Hap’s (it is clear these piles are not Hap’s) on Route 100 on the left going south toward Warren.

As far as I can tell there are several flatbed trailer frames, large amounts of scrap iron, at least one 30-plus-foot sailboat, a car, a truck and who knows what else.

Is the town going to take some action to make sure the person who is responsible has these piles removed before winter weather sets in and makes the removal much harder?

Visit the Mad River Valley and drive by the junk piles!
