To The Editor:

We are writing in response to the article "Tensions rise between library and the town" in the June 4 issue. We do not feel the article or the headline accurately represent the tenor and content of the meeting.

Warren Library board trustee Dave Ellison's presentation was both factual and nonjudgmental. The select board listened intently and the ensuing conversation was one of mutual respect with a desire to move forward with better communication and a solid working relationship.

To say that Ellison "argued" that the select board "blatantly disregarded" the library's authority and that "tensions rise" feels sensationalized and inaccurate. The purpose of the meeting was for the two boards to come together and communicate an amicable path forward. The Warren Library trustees and select board were pleased with the outcome of the meeting and we look forward to working together in the future for the benefit of our community.
