Community Weekend, Sugarbush Resort's celebration of autumn in Vermont, is no ordinary October festival. The celebration, offering activities for entire family – including the dog, will take place with Community Day on October 11 and Family Oktoberfest on October 12 at Lincoln Peak.

Saturday kicks off with complimentary cheese, apples and coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Sunrise Cafe in The Farmhouse. A winter product preview will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with tabling and swag from Oakley, Scott, Under Armour/Seirus, Smith, Giro, Gordini, Skida, Owl Bars, Gaylord Maple Products and Elmore Mountain Farm. The Adventure Gear Shop will also hold a clearance sale from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Scenic lift rides will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are complimentary for pass holders. Kids can enjoy mountain activities as well as Adventure Camps including activities like a morning hike (ages 6 to 12), fall arts and crafts projects and recreation time. Check-in for the camps (ages 3 to 12) is at The Schoolhouse at 9:45 a.m. and runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, John Egan and Sugarbush coaches will host a free bike clinic for kids of all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. Included in the coaching staff is Sugarbush-sponsored athlete Ali Zimmer, who was recently named to the USA Cycling World Championship Team.

Win Smith, president of Sugarbush Resort, will give his annual presentation starting at 10 a.m. in Gate House Lodge.

Mad River Valley Ambulance Service will provide free child car seat checks in the Lincoln Peak parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A Sugarbush Partners Exposition will take place from noon to 4 p.m. in the courtyard at Lincoln Peak Village. Plain Jayne will provide live music from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Timbers patio.

Sugarbush chef Gerry Nooney will host a harvest autumn barbecue in the courtyard from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Castlerock Pub will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Timbers Restaurant will be open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. (reservations recommended).

The guided Dog-Friendly Family Hike is a great opportunity to strut a mutt, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. starting at The Farmhouse. Pumpkin carving will once again be available in The Schoolhouse from 1 to 3 p.m.

On Sunday, October 12, Sugarbush will host its second Family Oktoberfest. This traditional Oktoberfest will feature a family-friendly Bavarian buffet from noon to 2 p.m. and a von Trapp Beer Garden from noon to 3 p.m.

Live music from Opa's Oompah Band, a four-piece Bavarian-style band, will be performed from noon to 3 p.m. Fun and games for the whole family including Dux The Balloon Man, cabbage bowling, pumpkin checkers, kids obstacle course and a keg toss will all be running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
