Both Streeter and Pearsall placed first in the Vermont state competition with undefeated records and went on to the New England tournament to represent Vermont. Streeter defeated Justin Wojciechowski of Massachusetts, Josh Andrews of Maine and Quinton Birchall of Connecticut, all with pins in under three minutes, to gain his first-place standing.

Pearsall beat John Lloyd of New Hampshire and Cole Souza of Connecticut, losing to Nick Zicius of Rhode Island for his second-place standing.

Streeter and Pearsall are the first Harwood Middle School wrestlers to place in the New England championships in many years. "It was great to bring the New England title back to Harwood," says Streeter. "This was the toughest competition I've seen all year."

"I really appreciate that we had the chance to wrestle at New Englands," said Pearsall. "Coach Lavanway and [Assistant Coach Kegger] Griffith took us on their own time and it's an experience I'll never forget."

Streeter and Pearsall both volunteer with the youth program for K-6 grades on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Harwood.
