On June 7, 2025, Abigail Lindhiem and Isaac Lobb were married at Meadow Crest Farm in Waitsfield, the Messer family’s homestead dating back to 1812. The farm, located on Meadow Road in Waitsfield, has been passed down through eight generations.
The wedding took place on the same grounds where a historic family photo was taken in 1911, featuring the three generations of the Barnard and Palmer families, early stewards of the farm. Fred Messer, Abigail’s grandfather and current owner of Meadow Crest, is a direct descendant of those pictured. At this month’s wedding, a new photo was taken in front of the farmhouse, capturing another three generations of the family legacy.
Abigail Lindhiem, the granddaughter of Fred R. Messer and Josette W. Metayer, is studying nursing at the University of Vermont. Isaac Lobb is majoring in engineering also at UVM. The couple plan to eventually move to Meadow Crest, where they hope to raise a family and continue the farm’s long-standing family lineage.
