WUCC

The Waitsfield United Church of Christ (WUCC) is seeking a new owner for its building, located at 4355 Main Street in Waitsfield. Though the church is doing well – with a core group of leaders, many willing helping hands and a relevant and vital mission – it is facing larger societal dynamics that all churches are facing: an aging congregation in the midst of an aging population, and a lack of people who have the same amount of time and money to commit to the church as did prior generations.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) has been prepared and is available to any interested parties. The congregation hopes to find a partner or organization with similar values and a desire to continue to operate the Village Meeting House as a place where the Mad River Valley community can meet, learn, and play, including the many current users of the space.

The RFP includes information on the history of the building, description of the current facilities and property, including a list of the capital improvements completed since 2018, a list of current users as well as how the building is used by the WUCC congregation. Preliminary information on the income and expenses for the building and what is necessary to care for the building is also included. Other issues will be part of a negotiated agreement with the group who will own the building.

Anyone interested in receiving the Request for Proposals should email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Responses to the RFP will be evaluated as they are received. The WUCC notes that this solicitation of proposals does not imply that any proposals will be accepted.
