Big Picture Cafe

After a long pause and a transition of Waitsfield's Big Picture Theater into a nonprofit organization featuring cultural and family programming, the Cafe side of the Big Picture is ready to reopen.

Manager Kevin McMillion and owner Claudia Becker were able to find a strong kitchen team. Colby Miller – a known chef in the Mad River Valley and Alexander Brink, Texas, who moved to the area last year, are presenting a new menu starting November 1. The menu will feature a variety of new dishes with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients, and eventually bring back some old favorites, Becker said.

"With two strong chefs at the helm, the Big Picture Cafe will do an invite-only soft opening the last weekend of October for founding and supporting members of the Bigger Picture Community Fund, the nonprofit organization that brought the theater back to life,” Becker added.

On Saturday, November 1, the Cafe will open its doors to the general public for dinner five nights a week. Operating hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. Desserts and baked goods will be available alongside the dinner menu.
