MDVIP has partnered with John A. Wilson, MD, – to launch MDVIP’s primary care model in the Mad River Valley. His office is located in Waitsfield at the Mad River Valley Health Center.
Dr. Wilson has opened an MDVIP-affiliated practice, which is a concierge medical practice. Wilson said regarding his MDVIP partnership, “As a family medicine physician, I aim to treat each patient as a whole person – shaped by their experiences, values, culture and community. I want to know their stories, their family history and what they’ve been through. MDVIP makes this possible by giving us the time to get to know each other and unpack everything that is going on, which isn’t feasible in a traditional practice where visits are limited to just 15 minutes.”
He said that having a smaller practice size allows him to see patients the same or next day, offer 24/7 availability, offer a family plan and coordinate care with specialists as needed.
Through an annual membership fee, patients receive a yearly health assessment that includes advanced diagnostic tests and screenings . Wilson is a board-certified family physician with over 16 years of experience and a special interest in disease prevention and integrative medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Family Medicine, serving as chief resident, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut. He simultaneously completed a fellowship at the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. When he isn’t in the office, Dr. Wilson can be found outdoors, skiing as much as possible during the winter months, in addition to gravel biking, hiking, painting, and spending time with his dog, Hazel. He is also a private pilot and enjoys flying around Vermont.
