Water Leak Update

Simon Operating Services (SOS) has further narrowed down the Waitsfield municipal water system leak to somewhere between the north side of Carroll Road and the Waitsfield Fire Station. The town’s water system has been leaking 60,000-75,000 gallons a day since December 11. Nate Fredericks, SOS, has systematically been shutting off the system to try and determine the location of the leak, working in the wee hours of the morning along the length of the town water system. This current isolation area is about eight-tenths of a mile long. Previously Fredericks isolated the leak to an area between the Northfield Savings Bank and the fire station. This new isolation area is out of the major wetland that runs along and behind the Slow Road.
