Running for Office

Local town clerks have completed the Town Meeting ballots and sent town reports off to be printed as local municipal leaders prepare for Town Meeting on March 3.

This week, The Valley Reporter is looking at who is running for office/up for re-election in Warren and Waitsfield.

In Warren current select board chair Devin Klein Corrigan is seeking reelection to a three-year seat on the board. Board member Harvey Blake is running for the final two years of three-year seat on the board while board member Joel Taplin is running for the final two years of a three-year seat on the board.

Both Blake and Taplin were appointed to the board last year after Warren ended up with board vacancies after Town Meeting.

Ken Scott is running for a two-year seat on the select board. Board member Kaylee Whitehouse is not seeking reelection to the board. Warren voters will also be electing a town treasurer after longtime treasurer Dayna Lisaius resigned earlier this year. Patricia Begin is running for that three-year position. Jeff Campbell is running for a five-year term as cemetery commissioner, Carolyn Adams is running for a three-year term as lister. Dave Ellison is running for a three-year term as library commissioner as is Karen Cingiser. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jonathan Young, one of Warren representatives to the Harwood Unified Union School District board resigned last month and Warren is seeking a write-in candidate to run for the final year of Young’s term on that board.

Warren will be electing a moderator from the floor of Town Meeting as will Waitsfield.

WAITSFIELD

Waitsfield voters will be casting ballots for town officers, including two select board members next month.

Board member Chach Curtis is seeking reelection to a three-year term on the board and current board chair Brian Shupe is seeking reelection to a two-year term on the board. Charlie Goodman III is seeking reelection as a lister for three years and town clerk Jennifer Peterson is seeking reelection as delinquent tax collector. Caitlin Ennis is seeking a five-year term as library trustee. JB Weir is seeking reelection to a three-year term on the Harwood Unified Union School District board.

Valerie Capels is seeking a five-year term as cemetery commissioner.
