The event, scheduled for Aug. 7-9, connects the classic car show with local shops, restaurants and attractions.

"The Vermont Antique & Classic Car Meet is one of Waterbury's signature summer events," said Roger Clapp, executive director of Discover Waterbury. "Cruisin' Route 100 is our way of welcoming visitors, encouraging them to discover what our community has to offer and creating opportunities for local businesses to be part of the celebration."

A featured attraction is the free, family-friendly Cruisin' Route 100 Scavenger Hunt. Participating businesses and attractions will hide vintage die-cast toy cars throughout the weekend. Participants who find the hidden cars, answer bonus questions and complete the hunt will be eligible for prizes sponsored by Ben & Jerry's.

Additional highlights include:

  • A block party from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Cold Hollow Cider Mill, featuring live music by Black Wolf, vintage cars and motorcycles, and family activities.
  • CiderFest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Cold Hollow Cider Mill, with music, games and cider.
  • A Welcome to Waterbury ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at North Country Donuts.
