The Mad River Valley Interfaith Council has been named the grand marshal for the 65th annual Fourth of July parade in Warren. Perhaps best known as stewards of the local Food Shelf, the Interfaith Council quietly works within the greater Mad River Valley community assisting residents and transients with short-term emergencies from fuel assistance and car repair to a bus ticket home. The Interfaith Council also manages the Thanksgiving Food Basket program (nearly 100 families) and Joy of the Season holiday gift assistance. This work continues quietly within our community with dedicated and compassionate volunteers.
"The Warren Fourth of July committee is pleased and proud to honor this local organization," said spokesperson and Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce director Susan Klein.
