Quilt appraisal evening

Professional quilt appraiser Carol Wheelock will be at Mad River Quilt Shop on Main Street in Waitsfield on Wednesday, July 10, from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Quilts made, bought, or inherited may be worth more than owners realize. Insurance companies consider quilts to be blankets unless they are insured. Appraisals are necessary to determine replacement value in case a quilt is lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged. This includes quilts that are shipped or mailed.

Appraisals are also used to settle an estate, determine fair market value of a quilt to sell, or determine the value of a quilt to donate.

Call Wheelock at 496-2306 to schedule an appointment. Each appraisal is approximately 30 minutes and there is a fee.
