Mad Dash

“We are pleased to announce that Sugarbush Resort will be the title sponsor of the 2016 Mad Dash,” said Laura Brines, chair of the Mad River Path Association, which holds the Dash.

The 21st annual Mad Dash is scheduled for Sunday, October 9, at 10 a.m. starting from Meadow Road in Waitsfield. Registration is now open online at www.madriverpath.com – click on the Mad Dash link.

The Dash is a classic Vermont foot race benefiting the Mad River Path Association. The course goes near the Mad River, through a covered bridge and includes majestic views of mountains and farms. It is multiple events in one: 5K and 10K Road Race, 5K Fitness Walk and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Kids Fun Run. Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs before, during and after the race. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. “People choose to live in and visit the Mad River Valley largely due to the amazing outdoor recreational opportunities we have here. The Mad River Path is working hard to create more recreational paths for our community and, thus, offer more choices for mountain biking, trail running, cross-country skiing and walking. In that sense, our interests are very closely aligned,” said Sugarbush president Win Smith.

In addition to enjoying discounted registration pricing, participants who register online in advance will also be entered into a raffle for one of nearly 30 great prizes donated by local businesses. For a complete list of raffle prizes, visit the path’s website. All participants get T-shirts and lunch and there will be live music by the Phineas Gage Project. There is no advance registration for the Kids Fun Run and it is free. The path association is a member-supported nonprofit organization working to create a network of public pathways throughout the Mad River Valley.
