Lawrence Brown Woolson Sr., 89, formerly of Springfield, VT, passed away on the evening of June 19, 2018, at Wake Robin in Shelburne, VT, surrounded by his family. He was born April 17, 1929, in South Orange, NJ, the son of Kenneth H. and Dorothy (VanWee) Woolson. He graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1947 and from Williams College in 1951.

On June 7, 1952, he married Constance Baker in New York City, NY.

He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. Mr. Woolson was employed with Jones and Lamson Machine Tool Co. from 1954 to 1971, Vermont Foundry from 1971 to 1972 and with Wiggins Concrete Products Inc. from 1972 until his retirement in 1994.

Civic boards and trusteeships included Springfield Hospital, Springfield Library, First Congregational Church, Fletcher Farms, Diversionary Court and Trustee of Public Funds.

He enjoyed tennis, hiking, canoeing, alpine and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

He is survived by his children, Lawrence B. Woolson Jr. and his wife Jill, Leigh Richards and her husband George, and Peter Woolson and his wife Alessandra. Grandchildren, K. Hazen Woolson, Leah Stauffer and her husband Matt, Zachary Richards and his wife Lauren, Sam Richards, Christian, Thomas and Ian Woolson.

A Circle of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Wake Robin in Shelburne, VT. Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Summer Hill Cemetery in Springfield, VT. Reverend Gerry Piper will officiate.
