Marcella A. Gratton, 90, a longtime resident of Warren, passed away peacefully at the Vergennes Residential Care Home on Friday morning, October 23, 2020. Born in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hortense (Luce) Brooks. On August 31, 1963, she married the love of her life, Raymond E. Gratton, in Middlesex. Raymond predeceased Marcella on April 12, 2020.

Marcella grew up in Warren and attended school there. As a young woman she worked at the Rochester Inn and later at the Weyerhaeuser Plywood Company in Hancock. The majority of her working life was spent as a chambermaid in many homes in the Mad River Valley area. After her retirement she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She found joy in cooking a variety of sweets, especially chocolate chip cookies for the holidays and family gatherings. She also enjoyed puzzles, word search and coloring projects.

Marcella is survived by her children, Priscilla Remick and her husband Harry of Tamworth, NH., Cindy Gebo and her husband David of Bristol, VT; three grandchildren, Christian, Angelia and David; a great-granddaughter, Samantha; as well as nieces and nephews and extended family. Marcella was predeceased by two brothers.
