Celebration of Life

Margaret "Margie" Baird

The children of the late Margaret "Margie" Baird, Mistylee, Jimmy and Tiger, invite friends to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

The celebration takes place at noon at Couples Club Field in Waitsfield. Food and seltzer will be provided. People can bring their own beverages as well.

The family welcomes any photos that people might like to share with them.

obit MargaretLBairdOn Sunday, December 18, 2022, Margaret (Margie) L. Baird, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 80 in Bradenton, Florida.

She was loved not only by her family but many others which she had the gift of making them feel just like family. 

Margie was born on October 6, 1942, in Waterbury Center, Vermont, to Gordon Lavery and Mary Helen Webster Lavery. She graduated from St. Michaels in Montpelier, Vermont. She was a Sunday school teacher while raising her children. Together with Andrew Baird Jr. they raised one daughter, Mistylee (Richmond, VT) and two sons, James and Andrew (Tiger) Baird III (Waitsfield, VT).

Margie had a passion for puzzles, books, crossword and Jeopardy. She also loved to relax and take in the music of the homestead stream, enjoying nature at its best. Her favorite times were spent camping in the woods with her family and husband Kimball (Kim) Wood.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband Kimball Wood. She is survived by her children, Mistylee Baird, James Baird, and Andrew (Tiger) Baird III; stepchildren, Christopher L. Wood, Donna Wood, Kimberly Pinder; grandchildren Andrew Baird IV, Alexander Baird, Kelly Baird, Carleigh Baird, Shelby Wood, Colby Wood, Cody Pinder, Devin Pinder, Samantha Pinder, Eli Pinder; great-granddaughter Lailla Baird, her sisters Tinia Bradley, Marilyn Richards, and Barbara Morgan; nephew Craig Lavery, Michael Wood.

The family would like to also express their appreciation of the staff at Tidwell Hospice for their loving care during Margie’s journey home. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later time where she will rest in Vermont.
