John Tracy Celebration of Life is next month
John Tracy, beloved husband,father, grandfather and friend, passed away January 24, 2026 at the age of 75. People measure their lives in various ways, but John measured his by his faith in God, the people he loved and the adventures he shared along the way.
Flying was one of John's greatest joys. From 2009-2023, he and his wife, Jean, lived half of the year in the Mad River Valley. There he became a familiar face at Sugarbush Soaring in Warren, where he flew tow planes and gliders. Whether towing gliders into the sky or soaring silently above the mountains, he found peace, purpose and a community of friends who shared his love of flight.
While his passion was flying, John's true legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friends he cherished, and the countless lives made better simply because he was part of them.
Friends of John are welcome to gather for a potluck Celebration of Life in his honor at the Warren-Sugargush Airport, Saturday, August 22 at 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish to share, a beverage, a smile, and a memory of John to share.
