Doris J. Luce, 70, of Luce Pierce Road, Warren, passed away at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on Tuesday, December 12, 2006. Born in Pittsfield on January 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ruth (Barrett) Larmie. On November 14, 1959, she married Eugene G. Luce in Warren. Mr. Luce passed away on January 9, 1988.

Doris was a graduate of Bethel High School. For the past 45 years, she has worked for the Sugarbush Inn in Warren as a housekeeper. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children, Diane Luce of Warren, Marlon "Stub" Luce and his wife, Lynn, of Cumming, GA, and Jeff Luce and his companion, Carol Clark, of Warren; her grandchildren, Erica Duggento, Lindsey Duggento, Trevor Luce, Nathan Luce, April Burdette and Dana Burdette; her great-grandchildren, Maria Burdette and Hunter Luce; a sister, Lois Lambert and her husband, Frank, of Stockbridge; two brothers, David Larmie and his wife, Carol, of Millersville, PA, and Louis Larmie Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Narvon, PA. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and extended family; and her chocolate Labrador retriever, "Chloe." She was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Cole and Shirley Pierce, and a brother, Sonny Larmie.

Memorial services will be held from the Warren United Church on Saturday, December 16, at 3 p.m. with inurnment to follow in the Warren Village Cemetery. Friends are invited to a reception following the service at the Warren Town Hall. The family requests that flowers be omitted; rather memorial gifts would be appreciated to the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 305, Waitsfield, VT 05673. Arrangements are in the care of the Perkins-Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Waterbury.
