Glennis J. Weston, 86, a longtime Warren resident, passed away on April 30, 2007, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following several years of declining health. Born in Warren on October 21, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn and Hazel (Thayer) Brown. Glennis married Stanley Martin, who died while serving his country during WWII. On November 3, 1947, she married Raymond Weston in Warren, who also predeceased her.

Glennis attended schools in Warren and was a graduate of Montpelier Seminary. She spent most of her life in Warren where she was busy as a homemaker and raising her family. Throughout the years, Glennis worked part time for the Warren Post Office, the Warren Town Clerk and for the school lunch program. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

More recently, Glennis resided at the Waterbury Area Senior Center Apartments before moving to the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Raemon and Linda Weston.

Glennis is survived by five sons, Roger Martin of Williamstown, MA, Lesley "Joe" Martin of New Port Ritchie, FL, Richard Weston of Braintree, Danny Weston of Calais and Raemon Weston of Waterbury; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Mould of North Adams, MA; two brothers, Mark Brown of Middlesex and Sherwood Brown Sr. of Lunenburg; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by two sons, Wendell Weston and Stanley E. Martin Sr., and a sister, Stella Bessette.

A graveside service will be held from the Warren Village Cemetery on Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the Perkins-Parker Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Waterbury on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Waterbury Area Senior Citizens, 14 Stowe Street, Waterbury, VT 05676.
