Karen A. Mehuron, 48, who grew up in Waitsfield passed away unexpectedly at her Concord, NH, home on Thursday, August 7, 2008. Born in Montpelier on May 27, 1960, she was the daughter of Irene (Weislik) Mehuron and the late Allen E. Mehuron.

Karen was a 1978 graduate of Harwood Union High School in Duxbury and continued her education at Simmons College graduating in 1982 with her degree in retail management.

Making her home in the Concord, NH, area, Karen operated a daycare from her home for several years before embarking on a career that encompassed her lifelong love of baking; owning and operating a cookie store in downtown Concord. Busy as a homemaker and raising her family, Karen most recently worked in food service for the Target Department Store in Concord.

In her leisure time she enjoyed a variety of crafts, baking and spending time with her children.

Karen is survived by her mother, Irene Mehuron of Waitsfield; her children, Megan Fournier of Waitsfield, Elizabeth Johnston of Webster, NH, and Allen Fournier of Burlington; her brother, Thomas Mehuron, and his partner, Kathy Mehuron, of Waitsfield; and a nephew, Thomas Mehuron III, of Waitsfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Waitsfield on Friday, August 15, at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in the Irasville Cemetery in Waitsfield.
