Anne Elsie Jean (Andrews) (Burns) Sidney passed away on the evening of Friday, June 18, 2010, in the comfort of her home in Warren, Vermont, in the arms of her husband Don and daughter Samantha. Anne made a valiant effort to overcome her cancer and continue to live the life she loved. She was born in Montreal, Canada, and moved from Canada to the Mad River Valley in 1969. The Valley was her "home" and she also had a deep connection and pleasure with the ocean and Nova Scotia, a place she spent childhood summers and visited throughout her adult years.

Anne was a gifted artist, weaver and gardener extraordinaire. She took great pleasure and had a deep connection with nature and became involved in several environmental causes. She also learned carpentry and did much of the construction on her Warren house with her own two hands. She loved to cook and share meals with her beloved friends and family. She will be missed for her warmth, her curious and brilliant mind and her sharing of her wealth of knowledge with others and mostly because we will miss having her bright, beautiful and loving spirit in this life with us.

Anne is survived by her beloved family: husband Don Sidney; daughter Samantha Burns; stepson Erin Sidney; brother Dave Andrews and wife Marleen Andrews; nieces and nephews Chrissy (Andrews) Ross, Brad and Jeff Andrews; cousins Jennifer and Alistar Ramsey and Richard, Lionel, Averyl and Tina Forsyth; and her faithful dogs "Bob" and "Molly."

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 3 p.m. at the Lareau Farm in Waitsfield, Vermont (www.lareaufarminn.com). Any contributions may be made to your favorite environmental cause, the Mad River Valley Localvore chapter (www.vermontlocalvore.org/about) or Friends of the Mad River (www.friendsofthemadriver.org/index.phpmodule=pagesetter&func=viewpub&tid=2&pid=7&topic=13).
