The Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) board is seeking public input into the state’s efforts under Act 73, to combine 119 school districts into fewer than a dozen. In January the Vermont Legislature will consider combining school districts into larger districts based on the preliminary work of a subcommittee that has been working on and will deliver proposals in December.
“The HUUSD board has developed a community survey on the implications of these plans, in order to give our input to the legislative Task Force which is currently working on mapping out these new districts,” the board wrote in an email.
Those with access to computers and smartphones/tablets who are reading online can fill out the survey by clicking here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdyoC0F12d16zsKA7XVvsjuZTRqP3DIaoTk3Sy1-Cv6-JwVNg/viewform. It is open until October 26. Those who are reading without digital access can use a computer to access this site to fill out the survey.
“Act 73 may have huge consequences for our students’ education, so please take a few minutes to fill out the survey, which includes a link to an info page on Act 73. If you have friends or neighbors without good computer access, please encourage them to use the public computers at their town libraries,” the board noted.
