The Harwood Union alpine team hosted the Harwood Strong Paneled SL race on Monday, February 20, at Mad River Glen. The team thanked Mad River Glen, Jim Komarmi and his MRG Ski Club race staff for a very smoothly run afternoon of fun high school ski racing. Team members also thanked Harwood ski team parents and the team for working the race and thanked the sponsors who provided prizes.

The Harwood team won the team event with the low score of 59 points, Lyndon Institute was second with 106 points followed by Mount Mansfield with 120 points. The top scoring Harwood boys were Austin Taylor, first; Noah Williams, second; Connor Woolley, fourth; Rex Rubinstein, fifth; and Ian Groom, 11th. Top girls where Bo Rubinstein, fourth; Lauren McMann, 12th; Laili Iskandarova, 15th; and Jascha Herlihy, 15th.

The Harwood team also competed in the Slopeside Giant Slalom at Cochran's on Wednesday, February 15, again with strong finishes by all. Connor Woolley placed second, Austin Taylor, third; Noah Williams, fifth; Eli Moskowitz, 14th; and Ian Rossi, 16th. Girls’ results where Piper Beilke, fifth, and Lauren McMann, 10th.

The team will ski at Hard’ack this Thursday and move on to districts and states next week.
