Harwood 2, Middlebury 2

On Monday, October 13, Harwood hosted Middlebury for their annual cancer awareness game.

The game was scoreless until the third quarter when Harwood got on the board first with a goal by freshman Hattie Rivers, assisted by Maisy Gendimenico. Middlebury was quick to answer the call, scoring less than a minute later with an unassisted goal by Maya Breckenridge. Middlebury took the lead before the quarter was over, with a goal by Quinn Doria, assisted by Breckenridge.

Harwood rallied in the fourth, tying up the game with a goal by junior Sam McDonough. The game went into overtime, with both teams coming close to scoring. In the end it was be 2-2, with Harwood's goaltender Camille Edgecomb in net for 17 saves, Middleburys' Heaven Ross with 13.

Last year Harwood donated $315 to the Lamoille County Cancer Network, this year the game raised money to be donated to the Central Vermont Medical Center.

"We have two games left this season before we enter the playoffs, I'm hoping we gain some points in those games. This season hasn't been as strong as last season, but we are continuing to work on the things we need to in order to grow the program and our skills," said coach Katie Martin. "Camille had a great game in net, as well as junior midfielder Kaylie Magee, she was awarded the game clover for her hard work and great field vision."
