To The Editor:

Approximately 2,500 years ago the founder of Buddhism taught that human suffering comes from a toxic mix of greed, anger and ignorance or delusive thinking. I have come to believe that Donald Trump was put on Earth to be an example of exactly what happens to us individually and collectively when we let those afflictions get out of control.

Now, having seen his moral character and witnessed the often cruel consequences of his election, let us try our best not to make the same mistake again. But if he is reelected, let us do our best to relieve whatever harm and suffering may result. And if we cannot fully relieve the suffering, let us do our best not to follow his example in our own lives.
