The annual sale, which had been held in December since the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted its original fall schedule, has returned to its traditional early October timing, aligning with the long weekend and allowing for expanded hours and inventory.

“We looked at each other one day and said, ‘Why are we doing this in December when we always used to do it on Columbus Day?’” said Baked Beads owner David Cohen. “So, we moved the date back, expanded the hours to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and enlarged the space.”

The sale, running October 11–13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, will take place at the Baked Beads warehouse in Waitsfield. The event features hundreds of jewelry styles and accessories, some crafted specially for the sale.

According to Cohen, one of the highlights this year is the significant increase in one-of-a-kind pieces, especially in the form of cluster necklaces. “They are so cool,” he said. “There’s like 55 charms on a necklace, and they’re all different and eclectic. You can wear them to a school event, to the office, or a holiday party.”

Cohen also noted that the sale will include many new designs that incorporate gold and brass tones — a shift from the brand’s traditionally silver-focused aesthetic. “Gold is really popular right now,” he said. “Not necessarily 14-karat gold, but the color gold. The hippie silver stuff isn’t as popular anymore.” Other featured items include new keychains and hundreds of earring styles.
