Camp Meade host its second annual Winter Bazaar this weekend, bringing together local artists, neighbors, and families for a two-day celebration of creative community spirit. The event runs Saturday and Sunday, December 13-14, from noon to 5 p.m., with a River of Light lantern parade planned for Saturday evening.
More than a dozen Vermont artisans will set up booths in the Planetary Art Institute to offer art, handmade goods, and holiday gifts, complementing the year-round Artisan Studios on the Green. ONE Arts Studio will provide gift wrapping, child care, a gingerbread decorating contest, and creative gift-making projects for all ages.
A highlight of the weekend will be the River of Light Lantern Parade, scheduled for Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. Community members are encouraged to bring lights or handmade lanterns and join the procession, which will circle the Middlesex Green.
Food and drink will be available from Red Hen Baking and The Local, with a possible surprise opening of Bent Nails Roadhouse. Warm drinks and s’mores supplies will be available under shelter in the pavilion, with holiday tunes curated from the bandstand.
“We’re looking forward to bringing light, creativity, and connection into the community,” said Russ Bennett, one of the owners of Camp Meade.
The Winter Bazaar is free and open to the public, and families from across central Vermont are invited to attend. More information can be found on Camp Meade’s website or social media.
