Dorothy was an extraordinary wife and mother totally dedicated to her family. She was a safe place for all of us; her unconditional kindness and support has impacted us all. We have her in our hearts with loving memories of her marvelous meals, strength of character and endless giving. She always put everyone else's needs ahead of her own with her gentle soul and kind heart. She was very supportive of her husband's many transfers throughout the U.S. with the U.S. Border Patrol and Immigration Service and always held the family together regardless of where they were.

She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren; even during her final days, she continued to astonish all of us with her tenacity and concern for everyone around her getting enough rest and nourishment. As were her wishes, she wanted to end her days in Vermont with her loving family by her side.

Thank you, Dorothy (Mom), for giving us the foundation of love and family, it is a gift that we will cherish forever and it will be your legacy for generations to come.

"We are especially glad that you were born!"

A funeral Mass was held at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Winooski by Monsignor W. Searles on February 3, 2010. She is interned at the New Mount Calvary Cemetery, Burlington, Vermont.
