Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS), one of the world’s premier ski academies, announced today that four talented athletes have been named to their respective countries’ 2018 FIS Alpine Junior World Championship teams. These athletes will compete in Davos, Switzerland, from January 29 to February 8.

GMVS students and alumni on the team are Abi Jewett, Ripton, VT, Class of 2018, representing the USA; Jimmy Krupka, Fayston, VT, Class of 2016, representing the USA; Declan McCormick, Toronto, Canada, Class of 2017, representing Canada; Zach Roman, Mashpee, MA, Class of 2018, representing Ireland.

GMVS alpine program director Steve Utter said, “This is a remarkable achievement for each of the athletes which inspires our entire community and validates our training systems. We are proud of their accomplishment and excited to watch them in these races.”

“I'm excited to be able to compete against a lot of talented athletes from around the world and represent GMVS in the process,” said current GMVS senior Abi Jewett.

Athletes at the 2018 World Juniors will compete in men’s and women’s downhill, super-G, alpine combined, slalom, giant slalom and a mixed-team event.

GMVS is an independent college preparatory school for competitive alpine and Nordic ski racers in grades eight through 12 and postgraduates.
