To The Editor:

On behalf of the Waitsfield Conservation Commission I would like to thank Waitsfield voters for overwhelming support for Articles 5 and 6. The dollars provided through these articles will enable us to make a good start on tackling invasive species in town (principally Japanese knotweed and emerald ash borer) and build up reserve for potential future acquisition of land deemed vital for conservation. This reserve will position us well to secure significant federal conservation dollars for any such acquisitions.

Be assured the Conservation Commission will carefully steward the funds entrusted to it and work diligently to protect the natural resources that make Waitsfield such a special place. It’s truly a joy to be part of a community where conservation is embraced, appreciated and supported.
