To The Editor:

We need one at home. It would be wonderful if it holds in Israel, but I am looking at something closer to home. It is time we stopped the battle. Republicans and Democrats must work together to find solutions to the conflicts. We must stop seeking revenge. We have erred on both sides and are not doing our country a favor. Lay down the arms, both sides. Admit where we have not listened and try to re-discover compromise and problem solving.

It is time to come up with bi-partisan solutions. I suggest that we lobby congress to a provisional budget and include a clause that both sides agree to work on reasonable solutions to the health care insurance crisis in this country. It is unsustainable the way things are going now, but subsidizing it is not a long-term solution.

My intention here is not to offer arguments, but I would really like to hear from folks on both sides of the aisle and plan some sort of non-partisan dialogue, using what I have learned about listening and try to be a non-partisan, problem-solving think tank and send or bring our ideas to Washington. I am looking for support in organizing this event, somewhere in The Valley with facilitators. If you are interested in facilitating such a gathering, please let me know. If you would be interested in participating let me know as well.

We can’t do everything, but we can all do something.
