The Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce is calling on past volunteers and community members to join the Mad River Valley Ambassador team at the Mad River Valley Welcome Center. With the influx of visitors eager to experience the beauty of The Valley, volunteers play a crucial role in providing exceptional service and helping guests make the most of their visit, said Mad River Valley Chamber executive director Eric Friedman.
The Welcome Center, a cornerstone of the Mad River Valley Recreation Hub, is an essential resource for visitors seeking information on local attractions, dining, outdoor activities, and more. Volunteers, known as MRV Ambassadors, are the face of this community initiative, welcoming guests, answering questions, and offering personalized recommendations.
"We’re looking for volunteers to help us cover shifts as we head into the fall and winter months," said Friedman. "The fall season is always a vibrant and busy time in The Valley, and we need our MRV Ambassadors more than ever. It's a wonderful opportunity to share your love for The Valley, meet new people, and give back to the community."
Volunteers for the MRV Ambassador program can commit to as little as two hours per week, with shifts available to fit varying schedules. Perks include a comfortable space to work, good Wi-Fi, free coffee, and the chance to be part of a welcoming, energetic team.
The MRV Ambassador program attracts a diverse range of volunteers, from remote workers seeking a change of scenery, to local nonprofit members, business owners, retirees, and students. “Whether you’re a longtime resident or a newcomer, we welcome everyone’s support and will provide all the training you need to feel comfortable and confident in your role,” Friedman added.
Those interested in becoming an MRV Ambassador are encouraged to sign up for shifts through the Chamber's website or by contacting the Welcome Center directly. Volunteer shifts will run through the end of summer and into the busy fall season, helping ensure visitors have the best possible experience in The Valley.
