The following Tuesday, Warren voters will weigh in on the plan to build a new 12,100-square-foot town garage at a site on Vaughn Brown Road with a bond set at $9.67 million. That includes the contingency fees. If voters approve the bond next week, the project will go out for bid next winter and town road crews will do what site work they can in-between plowing, and other regular road tasks. Once the new facility is built and operational, the town will consider future uses for the current town garage site on School Road in the village.
Here is the warning for the town garage vote:
“Shall general obligation bonds of the town of Warren in an amount not to exceed ten million dollars ($10,000,000), subject to reduction from the receipt of available state and federal grants-in-aid, be issued for the purpose of replacing and constructing municipal improvements, namely replacement of the town of Warren's Municipal Garage?”
