The Harwood Unified Union School District Board (HUUSD) appointed Fayston resident Langford Davidson to fill a vacant board seat until Town Meeting Day in March 2026.
He replaces Mike Bishop who resigned from the board last month. The Fayston Select Board reviewed Davidson’s letter of interest and shared its support with the HUUSD board.
Fayston Select Board chair Chuck Martel, wrote to HUUSD board chair Ashley Woods expressing the town’s support for his appointment. He said the board appreciated Davidson’s willingness to serve.
He noted that Davidson is currently chair of the town’s planning commission, “where he is dealing with some challenging issues, and appears to be getting involved with other local groups as well.”
Davidson, who will serve until the next regular election, has a son in third grade and a daughter in first grade.
He has been a Fayston resident since 2019 but has ties that go back much earlier when his parents met at Mad River Glen in the late 1960s.
According to his résumé, Davidson has more than 20 years of professional experience in the nonprofit and business sectors, including work in organizational leadership and strategic planning. He also has a background in youth programming and community development.
Davidson will take his seat at the board’s next meeting later this month. His term will run until Town Meeting Day, when voters will elect a representative to complete the remainder of the standard term. –LAL
