Harwood hosted Missisquoi on Friday, September 19, Missisquoi came out early, notching three goals in the first quarter against Harwood’s one.
It was Missisquoi's Surelle Casperson, Addison Gates, and Peyton Tucker with assistance from Chaney Patriaude and Rowan Gregory on the board in the first quarter. Harwood attempted to catch up, scoring a lone goal by Jane Schaefer, assisted by Maisy Gendeminico.
Harwood scored again in the second, again by Schaefer assisted by Gendeminico. With a close game 3-2 heading into the third quarter, Missisquoi notched in two final unassisted goals by Amelia Farrow, and Mackenzie Poore.
"These are win-able games," said coach Katie Martin for Harwood, "Today was not our strongest defensive game, lack of stepping up and communication. We need to work together more to clear the ball successfully, and in the offense, really trap the ball in the opposing circle to get those goals or to get a corner. It can be frustrating knowing your team can produce more and win these close games – they just need to find it in themselves, they can do it."
Camille Edgcomb in net had eight saves for Harwood.
