After a sold-out run at the Big Picture in November, the documentary “The Librarians” returns to the Big Pic in Waitsfield on Sunday, January 4, at 4 p.m. As an unprecedented wave of book banning sparked in Texas, Florida, and beyond, librarians under siege join forces as unlikely defenders fighting for intellectual freedom and First Amendment freedom on the front lines of democracy. Despite facing harassment, threats, and laws aimed at criminalizing their work – the librarians’ rallying cry for freedom to read offers a chilling cautionary tale. Valley native and producer Janique L. Robillard will be on hand for the Q&A moderated by Warren Public Library director Marie A Schmukal. Other special guests will be on hand.
