Mad River Mentoring held its first Soup with Santa fundraising event on Saturday, December 13. The event was part of the third annual Waitsfield Holiday Walkabout and was held at the Village Meeting House at the Waitsfield UCC. Valley residents and visitors appear to have an appetite for soup as the event raised almost $3,000 for the nonprofit organization.

“We are so grateful to this year’s generous supporters – Blockhouse Studio, Red Hen Bakery, the Village Market, and Shaw’s. This joyful community event would not have been possible without their help,” said program manager, Kathy Mai.
Mad River Mentoring’s mission is to connect caring adults and youth, to provide guidance, resources and opportunities that will help young people thrive. It is a program of Open Hearth Community Center.
