Stephanie Grace

When Stephanie Grace’s dog Rex became paralyzed in his back end, she closed her art gallery on Bridge Street in Waitsfield and took time off to carry his bum around, giving her time to explore new things. One of those things was clay and pottery.

From an interest to a new career about which she is passionate, Grace began spending 40 to 50 hours each week, producing work that a friend with a local boutique began featuring and selling. Grace realized she needed her own studio space and opened her shop, studio and gallery in the Madd River Green Shopping Center in Waitsfield five years ago.

Her work has been featured in New England Living Magazine, New England Home Magazine, Boston Globe’s Holiday Gift Guide and Inside Weddings Magazine. She has hosted groups from The Current, has her work featured in the display cases all along Vermont’s I-89 and has participated in the Waitsfield and Stowe Farmers Markets.

Grace is drawn to art because of its powerful ability to connect people. As an artist, she hopes to create everyday objects that elevate their ordinary experiences.
